Wii Sells over 800K In October while Xbox 360 takes out PS3
Wii continues to crush it’s competition in terms of sales with over 800.000 units sold to consumers in US for the month of October. This is incredible two times the sales of it’s closest competitor, Xbox 360 despite the increase of sales Xbox 360 has experienced lately. Nintendo have really succeeded with their marketing since even Nintendo DS beats the competeing consoles bringing the total sales of Nintendo hardware to close to a staggering 1.3 million units.
And with the holiday season comming the sales are expected to be boosted even more bringing Wii to the most popular console this year as well.
Here’s the October NDP sale numbers:
• Wii - 803,000
• Nintendo DS - 491,000
• Xbox 360 - 371,000
• PSP - 193,000
• PlayStation 3 - 190,000
• PlayStation 2 - 136,000
Total hardware spend for October was $494.74 million, up from October of 2007 by about 5%. Total take for the year? $4.72 billion United States bucks. That’s 14% better than 2007.
