Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All Play is a great Wii game addition. If you are a Tiger Woods fan, you are definitely going
to love this. You don’t have to be a Tiger Woods fan to play this game. Anyone can play as this is a fun golf simulation game that will help newbies to improve on the skills, if you are too shy to play on the real golf course.
The Pros of the game:
1. The control is very much like real life golf.
2. Fun to play especially with friends.
3. Single-player mode is excellent.
The Cons of the game:
1. Putting can be a bit unrealistic and perhaps even feel awkward.
2. Visuals are quite dull, not appealing and definitely not promoting the lush green scenery.
Ignore the kiddy packaging and discover what a great fun the game would bring for adults. Even though the visual isn’t up to expectation and the audio is way out dated but the gameplay is much better compared the the cousins on Xbox and PS3.
This is a worthy game to play and excellent choice for parties. With more than a dozen of profesional players line up in the game, you can pretend to be anyone you wish.

I don’t understand why everyone disses the putting in this game. It is extremely accurate. I can consistently drain 50 ft putts. The key is setting up the shot as you would when actually playing golf. Then adjust your shot based on the feedback from the putt preview. If you do anything over a 2-putt, you’re not using the preview mode effectively.
Totally agree about the putting. Once you have practiced the different ramifications of the system, I think the putting is as near as it gets. After all who ever said that golf is an ‘EASY’ game. Whilst playing the 09 version I have not been able to get the commentary working. Is there anybody able to help me with this?

I’m an avid golfer. I carry a 5 handicap in real life and have played since I could walk. That being said, I was extremely disappointed with a few major aspects of this game. First you can’t hold the remote in the same manner you hold a golf club. (even though the instructions tell you to) If you hold the remote ‘correctly’ (meaning slightly at an angle, like a golf club would lay on the ground) you will have a severe slice. you have to hold the remote directly up and down which is nowhere near realistic. Second the swing percentage control is ridiculously flawed. I literally moved the remote slowly about 1 ft. back and 1 ft. through…and THAT was a 90% swing?!!!! REALLY?!!!!!
As for the putting, while the speed and break simulation are top notch, but once again the actual swing mechanics are awful.
I want my money back.

Thank you Tundra for the tip re. commentary activation. On reading the comments from Jay J I really wonder what people are expecting from a game that costs a miniscular amount compared to a full blown golf simulator. Also the space required. Lets face it, do you know of a better representation of a golf game. With the wireless remote and the fact that you don’t have to manage to create your golf swing within an arc as I have seen on other golf games. I think that if players of this game played it for what it is, they would get a lot more enjoyment other than gripping that it is not like playing real golf.
My game has been giving me problems lately, It won’t let me engage swing anymore, like we’ll be in the middle of a game and suddenly it wont let us swing. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix that? Thanks.
Anyone know how to move your golfer to a friends console so that you can play together… online is fun but sometimes if your gonna hang out together for a while it would be nice to be able to take your guy with you.

If you’re “consistently draining 50′ putts”, the game is obviously flawed. Tiger himself doesn’t consistently drain 50′ putts.

Hey guys, ive recently been playin a lot of this game and was just wondering how the hell you turn the commentary off it was fun at first but now its jus getting annoying n since ive checked everywer on the net i can find a tip to help ive already turned speed play off but the commentary continus. Any ideas? thanx
hey i think the putting is easy as well. but the key is to get it close to the hole shorten the putts:P
For the swings paly the game more than 18 holes and it will all come to you, watch your player on the screen. thats the easyiest way, after all there is no ball to keep you eye on.

I am totally new to this game, how do you set up two remotes in Tiger Woods 09.
My wife is a lefty, but even after we set the control for her golfer as a lefty, the animated character still swings as a righty. Are all of the players rightys?
Can anyone tell me how to unlock the players. More than half of them have locks on them and cannot be “chosen” for play.

Hi Can ne1 tell me how to use my profile golfer when playing on line.
I find the game quite enjoyable, in career mode, I’ve finished Tiger Challenge and the Fed Ex Cup but I’m only though 36% of the PGA tour. Swing techniques are enhanced by sponsorships and products you purchase and wear. Now my biggest issue is with the online play, I can’t figure out how some people can out drive me when I’m swinging 110% and hitting the ball 150+ yards, furthermore some people have a way of making the ball magically turn around, yes I know you can put a spin on the ball but some actions I’ve seen are out of this world. If anyone would like to share this with me I would be very grateful. Another thing I notice is how sharp the cups are, you really need to aim for the middle of the cup “preview putt” really helps.

Correction Drive 350+ yards
The people online are driving so long because they have unlocked how to get the bigger drivers in their bags. At some point during the game you can unlock these, I just have not figured out how to do it yet. I am almost through with the 2010 season and have completed all of the challenges, guess I will see after I finish this season if it helps.
I have been playing this game for about 2 months now. I created my own player and started directly with the PGA tour. I’m doing pretty good. Just got the EA Sports Sponsorship. A couple of things I noticed:
Sometimes the physics are wrong when you hit the a button and it gives you the target circle, percentage, and elevation. There are some times when I hit 50 or 60 percent full swing with the wind in my face and I watch the ball sail over the original 100 percent marker. And then their are other times when I try to hit a full 90-100 percent swing and it will register at like 65 percent and go in the cup (although I don’t complain about those!) Also, when you are going for the green in two on a par five and you get the heartbeat, sometimes you can swing as hard and fast as you can and still come up short. DRIVES ME NUTS!
Anyhow, I have played some courses, such as Firestone, three or more times already in PGA Tour Career Mode and yet it is still locked when I try to play with my buddy when he comes over. I dont get it. Any insight? Thanks

dpenn, I know the sponcership helps So far I have 18/24 sponcers unlocked – Having these unlocked allow us to pick better equipment that give us Bonus Increases under “my skills”. I hope the other 6 sponcers give me something good, as it is I have some funky clothing on my guy just for the extra bonues.
Simms – I agree the the swings don’t always match, I’m use to using a swing meter in most all other golf games.
Oh well this is a game, and I’m making progress so I’ll keep playing – If I find any secrets I’ll let you know.
Have been playing now for about 1 month.
Have started the PGA tour & got through 3 events.
Now when I play a round it saves as usual when finished
but the next time back it doesn’t show the event as being played & I have to start over. Any ides why this happens?
Scotty. I have a similar problem. Twice now I have completed Septembers events on the PGA tour, but when logging on to proceed to next month/event i.e October, I have to start again with the August events. Any help or observations would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Further to recent communications, I have just completed Novembers tournaments, but the progress indicated advises that only 20% of the events have been completed. This 20% actually appeared after Julys tournaments.
Any explanations or observation please.

My friend and I are playing PGA 2009 on one wii. What I´ve learned is that it is not possible to compete in a hole season, but only in a single court. Do I understand right or are we doing something wrong?

I have the same problem…I want to play in tourneis with friends (with our created golfers) So we can compete and get our stats up at the same time! Is it just impossible? Anyone? Any other game modes you can play together with created players and both improve stats?
How do you unlock the 10 and 10.5 drivers
I’m trying to have a long drive contest with numerous folks — and have it run continuously. Seems like the most you can do at one time is 4 player and then when it’s done, you have to loop/recycle through the beginning, setup, and back to the game so 4 more could play. Does anyone know a shortcut? or how you could offer a continuous play drive feature that maintains the same course layout, etc. I want all conditions the same for everyone. Thanks for any help!
Can anyone tell me how to get the music out of the background as the commentary is going on? I turned the speed play to OFF and got the commentary back, but the music is still being played.
Hello. Quick question for anyone who can help… How do i get the crowds to be on the course whiling im in the pga tour season? There isn’t a single fan on the golf course and i can’t imagine the game actually leaving the fans out. If anyone knows if there is something im not doing correctly, i would appreciate it. I know there SHOULD be fans on the course because there is a cheat code called, “cephalus” to allow for big headed fans… but when you have no fan on the course to begin with, it doesn’t work. PLEASE HELP!
I have the same question as Disco Stu. We have been playing this game for fun for about 6 months. We always play with a group and we noticed that we do not advance our stats by playing and we were wondering how to increase our stats instead of getting money for playing a course. Although we have bought quite a bit of stuff to outfit our players their driving abilities have not improved at all.
Hey everyone, Ive been playing since the game came out and I’ve pretty much mastered it. Here are a few tips:
1. When you hit the ball hard and it magically goes a wierd percentage (i.e. 68% when you hit it 110%), don’t spin the ball AT ALL. It will go right in the hole. This happens more often as your luck and recovery go up.
2. pay attention to your ball lie, which is displayed at above the loft adjust. If the lie is 90%, then it will only go 90% of the way in a full shot. Make sure to adjust and don’t forget about the wind, whether the shot it uphill (hit it harder) or downhill (hit it softer) and if the ball is higher than your feet, it will go further left than expected, if it is lower than your feet, it will go right, so make sure to fully adjust. The game rewards you for the more adjustments you make.
3. When putting from far away, use the preview. If the preview shows your shot as being WAY off and you feel unsure about the putt, you can switch to a pitch shot (yes, you can pitch it on the green). On those far shots, you can sometimes make a better attempt with the pitch and if you are playing with specials, than that is one less putt you have to make to avoid getting the snake special.
Is there any consistent way to get near a 100% putt stroke in this game? When presented with a fairly uphill putt, even a 6-foot putt can take 2-3 strokes even though I try to putt as hard as possible. Any tips/ideas?

SECOND wii controller.
When using two players and you are setting up the second player, it will show you which remote the second player is linked to by the 4 blue dots . (Just like on your remote.) Beside the 4 blue dots there are arrows left and right. click the arrow to move to the second blue dot for the second player. You must have, by this time, already initiated contact with remote to the console by pushing the A on the second remote in order for the game to know that you have a second remote ready to use.
If your putt preview shows that you will not make it to the hole or you know it wont because it’s uphill, just click the A button to zoom in and then press your + button slowly upwards to switch your putter up. So if you have a 30 foot putter and it shows you aren’t going to make it, by switching to a 40 foot you should be ok.

I have been playing Tiger Woods Golf ~1 1/2 years and current status is Superstar. I’ve won Rookie of Year and Player of Year and hold numerous records on many courses. I’ve won 24/50 tour events and unlocked all 55+ golfers, 25/27 course memberships and 25/30 sponsers. Eagles, birdies and pars exceed bogeys and D bogeys by 9000+ and I am always in top 10 on FedEx and Money.
Yet, I’ve never been able to qualify or be included in ANY MAJOR EVENT other than PGA Tour Championship. HOW IS THE TOP TEN ACHIEVED??
