Wii Menu

With this version, weather forecast will be displayed on the Forecast Channel icon in the Wii Menu. Headline news can be seen at News Channel icon.  Current time is also being displayed in Wii menu. When a message arrives, the area around Wii Message Board button will appear.

With the latest Wii update, you will be able to rearrange the order of your Wii friends in the address book.  You will also have the ability to go into your Wii friend’s registration screen by simply pressing Button A on the blank spot in the address book.  Envelope message icons appear on the calendar only on the dates.  Message sending history is now seen in Today’s accomplishments. If you wanted to scroll down the message simply press B button on the message screen.

This Wii update really provides so many great things and behind the scenes features that improves system performance. Nintendo Wii Firmware also shows information as the Wii Shop and News channel. Wii Menu performance is also improved.

It seems that the Wii limited storage is not a small issue but a very big problem according to Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime. He stated that the problem is more of a mainstream problem. 

He also stated that,

"From an Americas-centric perspective, here is the reality we see. We have a consumer base who loves virtual console. We have a userbase who really is enjoying WiiWare content. So for us really our challenge really is how do we satisfy all these consumers who are loving all of the product we make available on a download basis?"

It is true indeed that with so many Wii fans, there is definitely the need to improvise on the storage so that the fans have more space to download the WiiWare content. 

Nintendo is trying hard to overcome the problem and there is suggestion to allow Wii to access files through USB storage device. However putting into consideration of piracy and other issues, there is nothing solid in development yet so it will be some time before there is any updates on the improvement and development but check on us often to keep updated with the latest Wii news.
