EA Sports Active To Help You Lose Weight

Wii Fit is a huge success around the world. You might find that it is rather difficult to find the balance board because most of the stocks available are sold out over and over again.

This is a sign that many people are getting Wii Fit for their family. Of course, this is because Wii Fit is hailed as the top fitness product especially when you can use it together with EA Sports Active to lose some weight and stay healthy.

EA Sports Active is similar with Wii Fit, complete with games but it has more features as it is designed to work on every body parts to maximise the potential of weight loss in the process.

EA Sports Active is awesome because it tracks all movements when you move your body parts. You just need to keep the nunchuk to your leg with a strap and the screen will show your movements based on your moving body parts.

With movements being tracked, you will be able to track your work out more precisely to know which body part to target since you might want to lose some body fat at different parts of the body.

Another equipment you need is the resistance band that comes together with EA Sports Active. Resistance band acts as your personal trainer and you don’t need to have weights when you are using it. It is that convenient to use.

Of course, at the end of the day you will get a report from your ‘personal trainer’ that informs you about your achievements (and success if applicable). You should also try the Challenge Mode for 30 days. With a work out of 20 minutes everyday, you keep track of how much calories are being burnt in the process, which is great.

There is no reason why you should not try EA Sports Active just as you would with Wii Fit. Combine them and get the best results.

Wii Fit – A 10 Year Old is Diagnosed as Fat!

Wii Fit is a popular console but this time Wii Fit is facing a wrath following an incident involving a 10-year-old girl from South East England. This girl was diagnosed as being FAT by Wii Fit. We know that Wii Fit has a way to check our BMI and classified us into the right categories (Fat being one of the categories). There are two terms to describe those who are truly fat – overweight and obese.

SO, you are wondering what is wrog with that.

Basically there is nothing wrong except for the fact that her parents claimed that she is a perfectly healthy girl who dances, swims and weighs only six stones. Apparently the girl was devastated being called fat by Wii Fit. Her parents took the time to calm her and assure her that she is not fat.

Now, following this incident, Tam Fry (spokesperson for the National Obesity Forum) is shocked to hear that kids are being labelled fat by a machine (Wii Fit) and calls for a ban on children (not letting kids to play Wii Fit) seeing that a child’s BMI can change every day. At least parents should be warned beforehand.

Now, let us look at what Nintendo spokesperson say about it,

"Wii Fit is still capable of measuring the BMI for people aged between two and 20 but the resulting figures may not be entirely accurate for younger age groups due to varying levels of development."

What do you think? Should there be a ban to refrain kids from playing the machine or a ban is not necessary, they are just overreacting?

I am not sure how this will ends but one thing for sure Wii Fit is here to stay!

Gaming And Exercise With Wii Fit

One of the questions that often come to a player’s mind is whether you can really be fit with Wii exercise games.  Nintendo, the provider of Wii however claims that Wii Fit is for everyone.  The only cliché is that you have to own the Wii costing $250 to get the video exercise games with it and also to be able using the Wii Fit.

Conversely you can consider spending another $90 to top it with a CD full of exercises, all required information, and above all, the balance board. The balance board is 12” X 20” in size and made of plastic.  Most of the exercises save the running are performed on the board or near it.  It senses quite accurately your position and functions as measuring scale.

Once you boot and connect with your Wii console, the next step would be creating a “Mii” that would be an avatar of your person.  The avatar will have a nickname and anatomical features matching your own.  Mii is created using the Wiimote.  After you enter all your vital statistics, the narrator will announce your weight, index of body mass as well as your “Wii” fit age.

Balance is the key issue in Wii and it determines your fitness level. Most of the Wii Fit activities aim at creating core workout emphasizing slow and controlled motions.

Nintendo Wii Fit – Why You Should Get One

It is undeniable that Wii Fit is extremely popular around the world. However, what is the main reason for you to get Wii Fit in the first place?

Is it because you want to get fit, you want to give it a try or because you want to exercise the fun and easy way?

There is a reason for each individual that gets a Wii Fit but do you know that Wii Fit is so useful, it is being used to assist patients in physiotherapy sessions. Physiotherapists at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds England are using Wii Fit to help their patients in the rehabilitation.

It is amazing that patients recover faster by using Wii Fit during the physiotherapy session and this is of course a good news for everyone. Other hospitals can take a leaf out of their book. This is a good example of how game console can be useful for the unexpected.

Which is also why parents should encourage kids to exercise using Wii Fit because when you are using Wii Fit, you don’t feel as if you are exercising. You feel that you are playing games, which is an added bonus because you won’t feel bored. When you keep on playing (exercising), you get fit and stay healthy. It is a win-win situation.

So, the next time you heard your kids begging for a Wii Fit, make room for a Wii Fit because it is not only for the kids but also for adults. Use it as a family entertainment and your kids will love you even more.
