Excitebots: Trick Racing

Excitebots: Trick Racing is a new game for Wii. Released on 20 April 2009, it is a success as many players love the game. If you know Excite Truck, then this should be not a problem for you to conquer the game.

Why you should love it:

1. The controls are great.

2. Speed is excellent.

3. Trying out the fun minigames to spice things up.

4. Play online for more challenging experience and mind you, it is lucrative too.

What would make you hate it:

1. Limited players (2 players) for local races.

2. Bar spinning is difficult to control.

Apart from that everything works out fine and surprisingly it has managed to gain a score of 8 out of 10 overall. It is never a dull moment when you play Excitebots.

Check out this video to get a hang on to what Excitebots is offering:

The Munchables For Wii

The Munchables is an adventure game for Wii fans. Released on 26 May 2009, you should get your copy now. Hunger is no longer the sole reason to eat. You can eat for fun now.

Mission: Eat and munch your enemies in order to save the world.

What I like about the game:

1. Cute characters. Tiny little characters trying to save the world.

2. Colourful images. Oh yes, red, blue, you name it…

3. Interesting gameplay – easy yet entertaining.

4. Play as a Munchable and use the mouth as the weapon – the best weapon.

What I hate about the game:

I find nothing bad at all with this game. Well, it is just me. It might be different for you.

Perhaps you might find that this game is rather childish but why not give it a try?

Game play:

The basics of gameplay involve moving your Munchable around the screen and pressing the A button to chomp down on any enemy that gets close. Which enemies you can or cannot eat depends on your Munchable’s level–the higher the level, the bigger the bad guy he can consume.

Enemies that are larger than you are usually indicated with a level number above them. Even if you meet a bigger foe, however, you still have options, mainly in the form of breaking down enemies into smaller, more easily consumable portions by barreling into them with the B button.

You can even target specific enemies by holding down the Z button on the nunchuk. You need to move quickly with “broken down” enemies, because they’ll eventually reassemble into something larger if you give them enough time.  [via GameSpot]

Here is a video to let you have a peek at what it’s like to play the game:

Metroid Hitting Stores in August 2009

REDMOND, Wash., May 22, 2009 – Metroid™ Prime 3: Corruption set a new standard for first-person motion controls in video games. Now it’s bringing those controls to the rest of the celebrated series, allowing players to experience the entire Metroid Prime story arc with the peerless precision of the Wii Remote™. Nintendo announces Metroid Prime Trilogy, a new premium three-game collection for the Wii™ console that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games onto one disc and revamps the first two installments with intuitive motion controls, wide-screen presentation and other enhancements. Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available exclusively for Wii on Aug. 24 at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Each game maintains its original storyline and settings, but now Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes let players use their Wii Remote to aim with precision as heroine Samus Aran. Based on the breakthrough control system that debuted in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, these new Wii controls bring an entirely new level of immersion and freedom to these milestone games.

Metroid Prime Trilogy puts the best first-person adventures all in one place, with a host of new additions that make these three timeless titles more engaging than ever,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “A great deal of care and detail has gone into Metroid Prime Trilogy, providing longtime fans with new ways to experience the games they love.”

All three games now reside on a single disc. Players can access the game they want from a unified main menu that ties together all three adventures. Through a new unlockables system, players can gain access to in-game rewards such as music and artwork by accomplishing objectives across all three games.

Metroid Prime Trilogy was developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo, the same developers that created the original games for the Nintendo GameCube™ and Wii systems.

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com.

EA Sports Active Feedback

EA Sports Active is out now. Have you got yours? If not, why not check out what others have to say about EA Sports Active.

Most of the reviews are positive but I picked this review to share with you guys because I know this is what you need to know.

Surely, you will get your EA Sports Active right away.

I had my EA Active delivered today and I was itching to try it out because I quickly became bored with the Wii Fit games that focused mainly on balance and weight.

It was very easy to get set up. I configured my workout person to look a little bit like me although I hope I am a bit cuter. I kind of wish that they had child avatars for my kids who will play this soon, but that isn’t my biggest need.

I chose to work out on a medium skill level for the 30 day challenge. I’m not ultra fit by any means, but I’d like to think that I could run a mile or two if someone was chasing me. At the beginning of my workout, I started to think that I wasn’t being pushed enough, but by the end, I was sweating like a big dog — which was great. I believe my perception was caused by learning each movement before I started which gave me rest time. At the middle of my workout, some of the prior activities came up again and I was able to go right from exercise to exercise and that’s what I like. This is so much better than the Wii Fit.

I did the running, punching, inline skating (super fun and a killer), side lunges, squats and front shoulder raises for my first workout. Every exercise was entertaining. It did take me a little bit to get used to how you hold the remote, but now I’m a pro. I did do the "couch test" where I placed the remote on the couch to see if the avatar would do the exercise anyway — which it didn’t — unlike some other fitness titles. It really does mimic your movements, which I like.

Time for a shower and I can’t wait for day two of my challenge. I can assure you that you’ll like this game if you put the work into it. The couch won’t do it for you. :) [review by Kurt A. Boyle on Amazon]

Meanwhile, there is a new 30-day Challenge coming up on 1st June 2009. Are you ready to take up a new challenge?

Find out everything you need to know at EA Sports Active official site.

Science Papa

Science Papa is a new game for Wii. If you love Science, pay attention to this game. The name sounds intriguing though. This time, you get to play with experiments – something you cannot do in real life.

Due to come out in July 2009, there has been a mix reactions towards this game.

Let us have a look why is this happening.

1. Kotaku claims that it is rather stunning to have a game by the name Science Papa. After all, let us not forget about Cooking Mama.

2. Others are pretty happy with the announcement of the release.

Still, what we can expect from this game:

1. More than 30 mini games or experiments.

2. Touch screen and motion controls utilised to pour and mix chemicals.

3. We can monitor the bunsen burners.

4. We can fix and use lab equipment.

There are many more features, which you should discover when you play the game.

According to Activision:

"With Science Papa, we’re taking real-world elements of science and giving players the chance to interact with them in safe and creative ways,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “While the focus here is clearly family fun, the game can stimulate interest and discussion about science.”

It is in your hand, whether you want to play the game or not.

Then again, it is due out in July 2009. Plenty of time to decide.
